Interview with Sabrina Ellero, ASA - What’s your background ?

Sabrina Ellero : « I moved to London a bit more than 8 years ago for an internship after my degree in tourism. The plan was to improve my English (pretty bad at the time !) and to only stay for a period of 6 month, but I completely fell in love with the city and the people, and I decided to stay.

I have dealt with the French market for as long as I have been in the UK. I started as an Operation Executive for the most important French account in the company I was working for.

Then I moved onto another company where I was in charge of operating incentive as well as supervising the Operations team. I would also deal with the French market.

4 years later, I was looking for new challenges. I started to work for Angela Shanley Associates (ASA) as a Sales Executive. Five years have passed. I am now the Key Account Manager and Incentive Manager. France remains my main market but I am also dealing with USA, Australia, Brazil, Israel, Greece… » - Tell us a about Angela Shanley Associates Ltd

S.E : « Founded by the late Angela Shanley in 1978 the company quickly gained a reputation for long-term partnerships, attention to details and reliability.

Angela and her team (much smaller at the time) primarily focused on FIT business on three specific markets : Israel, South Africa & Greece.

Business was very much based on relationships, understanding, respect & a passion for the job (not to mention the good old telex machine!).

Over the years ASA became a dominant force on these markets. They partnered with many of the major wholesalers and they expanded the ever growing range of suppliers & products in the UK.

Internet & Technology played a key role in the next stage of ASA’s development as with many in the industry.

UK became a destination more accessible to a wider range of markets thanks to airlines de-regulation & to the on-line systems breaking down time-zones.

ASA took this opportunity to strengthen existing contacts and to create an additional department dedicated to groups. » - What are ASA’s strengths?

S.E : We are delighted to announce a new partnership resulting in the joint ownership and full management of a Paris-based tour operator by Angela Shanley Associates Ltd, Europe by ASA.

In the long-term strategy, Flying Europe by ASA will offer a complete B2B FIT & Group solution for the whole of Continental Europe.

“Travel Team”, a well-known brand in Finland for providing tailor-made services and offers to group & FIT travel has recently joined the ASA Family under the name of Travel Team @ ASA.

The latest news is that the ASA Group will attend ILTM Americas in Cancun (25-28 September 2017).
I will be representing the company during this leading event for the luxury travel industry in the Americas region.

ILTM Americas is an invitation-only event and it will give us a good exposure towards the luxury/MICE/Incentive market that we are developing more and more.
