Mylène Campalto : 2018 is indeed a special year for Abbey as it marks its 40th anniversary. The company was created in 2018 and has become today one of the major DMC in Ireland and UK.
The company development was ponctuated by highlights such as :
- The creation of our Conference and Events department in the 1980s in order to take care of professional events and congresses organization.
- The redemption of Irish DMC O’Mara Travel in 2000 which helped us increase our visibility in certain markets.

- Our recent opening of an office in downtown London.
M.C : Abbey will organize special events throughout the year to celabrate its 40th anniversary. On February 9th, Dublin, Edinburgh and London offices celebrated Abbey’s 40th anniversary. In July, the group will launch a big party for the whole company in Dublin : An opportunity to gather everybody, to remember great stories and to thank everyone. Abbey staff will also take part in several charity works. They will support associations in Ireland and in UK such as Focus Ireland, Trocaire, CanCare4Living and Shelter.
As for our business, in 2017 Abbey Group was nominated for the 8th consecutive year : « One of the best companies in Ireland » by Deloitte society. We are also very proud we’ve been designated for the 2nd time « International Tour Operator of the Year » by Scotland’s Heritage. 2018 is definitely a good year for Abbey !
I’d also like to stress that this year, Abbey is the official sponsor of the World Meeting of Families. Dublin has been chosen by Pope François to host this big international event, held every three years, August 21-26 2018. Families from around the world gather to celebrate, pray and think. The Pope and 20 000 persons are expected to attend.
