Who are we ?

Exciting opportunity to join South African Travellers www.satravellers.com, a leading mid-size inbound-tour operator based in Cape Town and specialised in the sale of tailor-made holiday packages to French-speaking clients.

Your responsibilities

High-profile position where the candidate must consistently challenge existing suppliers and prospect for new accommodation/activity providers across the main markets (South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique). The applicant needs to understand the desires of a mid-upmarket European clientele as well as the requirements of tailor-made luxury and experimental travel.    

Position reporting to: General Manager

  • Strategy:
    • Development of an innovative product strategy in line with the company culture and identity
       
  • Product development:
    • Market and portfolio analysis: Be up-to date with new tendencies and tourism trends, have good understanding of the distributors needs and characteristics and a perfect knowledge of our market trends and added values for an inbound tour operator. Identify the gap in the current offering
       
  • Prospection in order to find call to action products; Prospect for new partners matching our brand positioning (accommodations, activities, guides, car rental companies)
     
  • Production:
    • Based on complete analysis and prospection feedback
    • Create and develop innovative itineraries in South Africa, Mozambique, Botswana and Namibia for individual clients (B2B and direct)
    • Consistently challenge existing products
    • Identify the best and most appropriate routes for our self-drive clientele
    • Suppliers relationship
      • Develop and maintain positive supplier relationship
      • Negotiate tariffs with existing and new suppliers
      • Audit new and existing partners to ensure they match our quality requirements
         
  • Content delivery:
    • Deliver the content to the sales team in an original and efficient format
    • Provide the content to our system administrator in the adequate format including: selection of pictures; writing of descriptive for accommodations, routes, itineraries, destinations
    • Develop innovative customer informative documents (check-lists, information)
       
  • Emergency management:
    • Manage crisis and emergency management towards clients
    • Provide leadership and assistance to the sales team in case of crisis with their clients
       
  • Systems :
    • Supervise tariff input in our pricing tool (TourPlan)
    • Monitor and update content of our systems (WETU)
    • Monitor and participate in the improvement the content of our application
       
  • Staff training:
    • Assessment of the staff comprehension of our niche market
    • Continuously train the staff and develop their product knowledge
    • Challenge the team to participate in the product development
    • Collaborate closely with our marketing department for brochure and product production

Experience required

  • 3+ years of Product management experience in travel industry
  • Product and project management experiences required

Skills required

  • Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
  • Knowledge of French is a big plus
  • Excellent knowledge of main touristic destinations in South Africa and Namibia
  • Knowledge of Botswana and Mozambique is a plus

Package

About us

South African Travellers www.satravellers.com is a Cape Town-based francophone DMC. We work with French, Belgium and Swiss markets and offer travellers itineraries in South Africa, Namibia and Mozambique.

We are currently developping our MICE production (french group and incentive travels) in South Africa and we are looking for a Group& Incentives consultant to help us grow this department. The candidate will directly report to the General Manager.

Responsability:

You will assist the General Manager in developing our MICE production in South Africa (incentive, group and business travel organization) for the french market.

Your missions::

  • You will contribute to the marketing development on the francophone market : partners identification, contracts and business relations development…
  • You will be in charge of MICE activities : Prepare incentive travels and escort clients on their trip.   Respond to queries, create new itineraries, prepare and monitor budget, negociate with partners (hotels, transports, restaurants, activities, airlines, guides…), manage and confirm bookings, create and escort FAM trips.
  • You will contribute to business development by actively seeking new accounts for your department.

Experience:

We are looking for someone with a 2 to 4 year experience in the MICE industry.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for…
An enthusiastic and engaged Market Place Sales Manager based in Hanoi. You will contribute to the SIC segment growth by generating, driving & delivering a pro-active strategy of production and distribution of the products via the market places such as Travel Exchange.

SIC Production Studies & Elaboration

  • Source the needs from the Sales Network in the markets and from the Sales Teams in Asia.
  • Work on a benchmark study with the existing products on the markets.
  • Define the strategy, in accordance with each market objectives, by identifying drivers for growth, potential for new consumers acquisition for each market / segment.
  • Lead with the Marketing Department feasibility studies about the launch of the new products.
  • Submit the decision to elaborate new SIC or amend existing SIC to the Director of Sales.
  • Elaborate with the Production Department the SIC Products per market and per segment according to the new trends identified on the markets.
  • Determine the Sales Targets in team with the Sales Teams (SDM + STL) per product on each market and segment.


New product launches & Activation Plan

  • Work with the Marketing Department to generate innovative ideas to launch products and encourage innovative thinking.
  • Work with the Marketing Department to create and permanently adapt, offline and online marketing tools supporting the product launches
  • Ensure operational excellence for the product launches in regards to timing and in collaboration with the production and sales departments.
  • Train the sales teams how to sell each SIC product. Create the appropriate sales tools to promote the SIC products on the markets.


Distribution Strategy: Yield Management on Travel Exchange / Market Places

  • Manage the SIC products on each market / segment in accordance with the Sales Teams on the markets and in the destinations.
  • Optimize & monitor the distribution, the revenues and the profitability of the SIC Products via the Market Place Travel Exchange.
  • Motivate the Sales Teams on the market (SDM) and in the destinations (STL & SE) to reach the sales targets for each SIC Product.


The Travel Exchange Manager is placed under the responsibility of the Head of Marketing international. She or he may be managing marketing executives in the destination.

  • Knowledge of tourism industry: OTA community.
